MANILA, Philippines - Davao City native Shaira Hope Rivera emerged lone double winner in the concluding summer leg of the 2014 Cebuana Lhuillier Age Group Tennis Championship at Malita, Davao del Sur.
Rivera blanked local bet Harlyn Getalla, 6-0, 6-0, in the 14-under and followed it up with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Nicole Ann Bautista in the 18-U of the tournament hosted by the Malita Tennis Club and Dunlop Sports. Other female winners were Danna Mariella Abad, 6-3 , 6-3 winner over Bautista (14-U) Ma. Angelica Novis who defeated Theresa Claire Nacito 6-1, 6-0 (12-U).
Winners in the boys’ side of this tennis developmental program initiated by Philta chairman Jean Henri Lhuillier were Hakeem Cariga (18-U), Abson John Alejandro (16-U), Jyle Cyrin Martinez (14-U), Jurez Pantujan (12-U) and Andre Kyle Sing (10-U) over female 12-U)champion Nacito.
The series resumes on the last quarter of the year, according to tournament organizer Mario Craiz.
