MANILA, Philippines - Finnish Jussi Hoikka and former Rep. Ronald Singson topped their respective group races to show the way in the Ducati Cup 2014 powered by Bacchus Energy Drink at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga recently.
Hoikka ruled the Bacchus-Ducati Cup Group 1 race in dominating fashion, clocking 23.695 seconds to beat John Defensor and Jay Carrion. He went on to capture the Open crown against Vince Mercado.
Singson, on the other hand, emerged the overall winner in the Bacchus-Ducati Cup Group 2 race, besting Graeme Motimer and Redge Burilla
With the win, Singson topped both the Celebrity class over Bullet Jalosjos and the Beginners division over Burilla and Martin Rosario.
In Group 1 race, Defensor clinched the Masters crown over Alvin Dee and Toti Alberto while Carrion copped the Intermediate plum over Richard Panlilio.
Lawrence Macalinao likewise bagged the Novice plum over TJ Alberto and Daniel Savino.
In Group 2 race, Motimer reigned in the Ducati Super Legends class over Gerald Aycardo and Benjie Ladra; Dax Ayson copped the Ducati Naked Open plum over Charles Rosario and Gelo Roa; while Emil Banno took the Naked Beginners title over Kenneth Avendano and AJ Maralit.
Meanwhile, the third leg of the Ducati Cup powered by Bacchus Energy Drink will be held Aug. 3, also at the Clark International Speedway.
