Abalos Cup golf tourney at WW

MANILA, Philippines - A benefit golf event highlighting the 52nd birthday celebrations of Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos will be held Friday at Wack Wack Golf and Country Club in Mandaluyong City.

Dubbed the seventh Mayor Benhur Abalos Golf Cup, the golfest, organized by the Mandaluyong Golf Club in cooperation with the SM Group, Wack Wack Golf and Country Club and DDT Konstract, will have shotgun starts at 6:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.  

Newly elected Wack Wack president Ben Abalos will hit the ceremonial drive at 12 noon, assisted by champion golfer Charlene Abalos.

The tournament aims to generate funds for the Ciara Marie Abalos Foundation, a charitable institution that extends health care and educational assistance to the less fortunate.

Awaiting the players consisting of golf enthusiasts, businessmen and public officials are hole-in-one prizes such as Haojue motor, Mirrage Car, Piaggio Ape, Texas Eagle Golf Cart, Meister Watch and P500,000. Other valuable gifts will be raffled off.

Last year’s proceeds were donated to Ciara Marie Abalos Foundation amounting to P3.4 million.
