Paul George to join NBA selection vs Gilas Pilipinas

MANILA, Philippines – Celebrating his 68th birthday today, Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas president and business tycoon Manny Pangilinan once again surprised Filipino basketball fans with the addition of Indiana Pacers superstar Paul George for the exhibition game between Gilas Pilipinas and NBA players selection this month.

Pangilinan delivered the message through his Twitter account (@iamMVP) as he was also surprised with the return of George, who visited the country last year for a rare NBA pre-season game.

George will join LA Clippers' Blake Griffin, newly acquired Paul Pierce of Washington Wizards, Portland Trailblazers' Damian Lillard and Toronto Raptors' DeMar DeRozan.

They will also team up with 2014 NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard of the San Antonio Spurs, Raptors' Kyle Lowry and Houston Rockets' 42nd pick of the NBA Draft Nick Johnson.

The event, dubbed as PLDTHome: The Last Home Stand All-Star Charity Event, will also serve as a sendoff game for the national basketball team before competing in the FIBA World Cup this August in Spain.

Ticket prices are pegged at P23,300 for Patron A, P20,970 for Patron B, P17,475 for Patron C,  P9,500 for Box Premium, P8,000 Box Regular, P4,000 for Upperbox Premium, P2,500 for Upperbox Regular and P750 for General Admission.

The proceeds of the two-day event this July 22 and 23 will be donated to Philippine Disaster Relief Foundation (PDRF).
