Tough Boomland course to test Cabrera, Domingo

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The country’s leading karters slug it out for top honors on the short and narrow course of Kart Track Boomland at the CCP Complex in Pasay City this Sunday with Seaoil-DC bet Gabriel Tayao Cabrera shooting for a double victory in the ROK Overall and ROK Junior classes.

Fresh from his Asian Karting stint in Macau where he emerged the Asian Junior champion, Cabrera, who struggled to finish sixth here last year, beat veteran Bobby Domingo in the first two legs of the series.

But Domingo is going all-out for a payback even as he tries to firm up bid for the Karter of the Year plum in the event sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines and sponsored by Petron, Petron Blaze 100 Euro 4, Petron XCS, Petron Ultron, Petron Xtra, Petron Sprint, Magnolia Pure Water and Yokohama.

Also tipped to contend is Jacob Ang of Eagle Cement, who finished runner-up overall and took his second ROK Clubman title in the last race.

Others seeing action in the ROK grid are Lean Linao and Michael Jordan of Formula-E Racing, Brian Thorp of AUTS Racing, Allison Julian, Wayne Darvin, Michael Jordan, Julius Milla. Joseph Rene Tumambing and sister Jennifer Tumambing.
