Motorcycle club breaks 3 Guinness records

MANILA, Philippines - The country’s largest  motorcycle club re-wrote history by breaking three Guinness World Records in Pasay City yesterday afternoon.

Thousands of riders from Yamaha Club-Manila trooped to a mall in the city from 1-5 p.m. in their bid to break these records.

With about 1,400 motorcycle owners joining the event dubbed “Revs Your Heart,” Yamaha Club broke two new records for most number of Motorcycle Engines Started Simultaneously, and the Most Number of Horns Sounded Simultaneously.

About 1,200, meanwhile, helped the local Yamaha club beat its Italian counterpart in attainting the Largest Parade of Yamaha motorcycles.

“While two of the records were easily created by the club, the world record for Largest Parade of Yamaha Motorcycles, had to be earned,” the club said.

“The title holder then was TDM Italia, a motorcycle group from Italy that had 206 Yamaha motorcycles, parade at the Santa Monica International Racetrack in 2003. However, breaking that record was an easy feat for the large number of Yamaha Club’s loyal members present in the event,” it added

The Yamaha Club is the largest motorcycle club in the country, with an estimate of more than 85,000 members nationwide.

It was established to enable customers to have direct communication with the company.
