Rested PNP 5 raps Judiciary in UNTV Cup
MANILA, Philippines - Philippine National Police bucked a long layoff as it subdued Judiciary, 87-77, to remain unbeaten in the UNTV Cup Season 2 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City last Sunday.
Olan Omiping fired 23 points and drew solid support from the rest of the Responders, who stretched their win run to eight while dealing the Magis their second loss against six wins.
It was also a payback of sort for PNP, which was swept by Judiciary in the best-of-three finals last year.
As the top two teams, the Responders and the Magis have secured their spots in the next round.
The MMDA Blackwolves, meanwhile, routed the House of Representatives Solons, 109-77, as Jeff Sanders hit 18 points, pulled down seven rebounds, dished off four steals and made two assists.
