Seven PBA cagers slapped P115K fine
MANILA, Philippines - Two days before the opening of the PBA Governors Cup, league commissioner Chito Salud slapped a total fine of P115,000 on seven players for on-court misconduct and misdemeanor.
Alaska import William Walker and teammate Gabby Espinas and Meralco’s Danny Ildefonso and Gary David were sanctioned for their involvement in the fracas that erupted in the Aces-Bolts tune-up Tuesday at the Meralco gym.
Arwind Santos, Jondan Salvador and Mark Yee were penalized for their own misconduct in the San Miguel Beer-Globalport tune-up at the Acropolis Gym.
Walker, Ildefonso, David, Santos and Salvador were fined P20,000 each, Yee P10,000 and Espinas P5,000.
Walker and Ildefonso figured in a scuffle in the fourth quarter of their game won by the Bolts, 110-103, behind Terrence Williams’ 10 three-pointers.
David drew a fine as big as those got by Walker and Ildefonso by coming from nowhere to sneak in a punch on the Alaska import.
