‘Race to the Top’ Vertical Run slated

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Runners who have leveled up and have started to get tired of the usual road race face a different kind of challenge as they vie in the “Race to the Top” Vertical Run, the tallest single tower vertical run in the country, on June 22 at the GT Tower International along Ayala Ave. in Makati.

The novel, unique footrace is expected to lure over a thousand participants set to take on the challenge in running up the 46 storeys or almost 1,000 steps of GT Tower International, making it the country’s highest single tower vertical run.

Listup is ongoing at venue sponsor GT Tower International entrance lobby. For details, contact 09999987042, 09175170725 or 09324887251.

The event, presented by Federal Land, Inc., a leading developer of prime residential and commercial developments and office buildings in the country, and organized by E-ventologist Co., also serves as a fund-raiser for victims of typhoon Yolanda, specifically the orphans through the Metrobank Foundation.

In the tradition of well-known vertical run events like the annual Empire State Building Run-up in the US, the Race to the Top Vertical Run promises to be an exciting footrace with cash prizes up for grabs in various divisions.

The winners in the Elite division will receive P15,000 both in the men’s and women’s classes with the second and third placers getting P10,000 and P5,000, respectively, plus medals.

The Open category offers P5,000 top purse in both divisions with the second and third placers to receive P3,000 and P1,500, respectively, in the event supported by Royal Sporting House, Reebok, Diadora, Chooga and Booster Energy Drink.
