Sports center to develop world-class athletes

MANILA, Philippines - Peak Form, a state-of-the-art center that specializes on elite training of athletes,  features facilities  that bring together the comforts of home, the leisure of a spa, the modernity of a physical therapy clinic and the tested concepts of sports science.

Athletes recuperate either by resting at home or going to a spa after joining a competition or while in training. Others who feel aches and pains proceed to a physical therapy center or consult a sports doctor.

Orthopedic surgeon Edgar Michael Eufemio, whose sub-specialties are sports medicine and arthroscopy, believes the next super Filipino athletes could be discovered and developed in the upcoming years with the help of state-of-the-art revolutionary and innovative sports care providers such as Peak Form.

Peak Form, says Eufemio,  helps athletes of all ages, shapes and sizes, elite, weekend warriors or even couch potatoes, understand the proper approach to sports injuries, pain management, conditioning, nutrition and recovery.

Bannered by other specialists such as doctors  Michael Obispo, Ruth Padua and acupuncturists Philip Tan-Gatue and Stanley Chua, and fitness experts Jimbo Saret, Ash Macam-Velasco and Ariel Reynoso, the country’s first sports recovery center also has physical therapists and nurses specifically hand-picked for this endeavor. General manager Nikki Almario handles the day-to-day operations of the clinic.

Peak Form has various services and all the latest equipment to help an athlete stay in “peak form,” from the usual ultrasound and electrical stimulation, up to laser therapy, cryo-therapy, shockwave treatments, acupuncture, kinesio-taping, sports massage, suspension cable exercise programs and even platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections.

Peak Form will be holding its first Fitness Challenge on May 18, starting at 11 a.m., at Fisher Mall along Quezon Avenue in Quezon City. Called the Fitness Quotient or FQ Test, the event aims to objectively measure an individual’s fitness level.

All participants of the Peak Form Fitness Quotient Test will be given a numerical score after completing all the stations in the event supported by Chris Sports, the official fitness and sports equipment partner, MelMac Sports Management, SpectrumedInc., Sonya Trading, Rebisco, Pocari Sweat, Ceres Fruit Juice and GNC.
