Top karters clash in Petron ROK Cup
MANILA, Philippines - The battle for supremacy gets more intense as the country’s finest karters plunge into another grueling round of action in the second leg of the 2014 Petron Blaze 100 ROK Cup Karting Super Series this weekend, May 10-11, at the Carmona Racetrack.
ART Grand Prix junior driver Gabe Cabrera and seasoned veteran Bobby Domingo could be headed for another tight encounter as they try to push their respective agenda in this event sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines and sponsored by Petron, Petron Blaze 100 Euro 4, Petron XCS, Petron Ultron, Petron Xtra, Petron Sprint, Magnolia Pure Water and Yokohama.
Cabrera aims to duplicate his double victory that captured both the ROK Junior and ROK Overall crowns to prove his feat up against seasoned veteran Bobby Domingo was no fluke.
Domingo, who dominated the Qualifying and Pre-Final heats, copped the ROK Senior title as he hopes to bounce back to push his serious bid for the coveted Karter of the Year plum.
Joining them in the combined ROK grid are Lean Linao of Formula-E Racing, Brian Thorp of AUTS Racing, Jacob Ang of Eagle Cement, Allison Julian, Wayne Darvin, Michael Jordan and Julius Milla.
Jacob Ang seeks to clinch the ROK Clubman Blaze 100 plum anew over Allison Julian while Michael Jordan hopes to claim the ROK Master Blaze 100 title over Julius Milla.
Equally exciting is the SQ 125 Sprint 4T race where Guiseppe Andreghetto also seeks a repeat of his feat winning both the Veteran class and the Heavy division while Paul Laurence Tan looks forward to another triumph in the SQ 125 Novice Sprint 4T class. and fifth placer Jeicke Don Holganza.
Out to stop them are Rhett Holganza, Mervin John Mallen, Chris Bendel and Jeicke Don Holganza.
Also favored are Flynn Jackes in the Mini-ROK XCS class and the KF Junior Restricted Blaze 100 division; William Casequin in the Formula SL Novice Extra class, Spencer Troy Cortez in the Formula Cadet Novice Ultron division and Carl Luig of AUTS Racing in the Formula SL Expert Extra class.
