Jalandoon, Firmeza top ABC anniversary bowl

MANILA, Philippines - Denis Jalandoon of Glass Asia lorded it over the Group 1 field while Abe Firmeza of Boysen Paints dominated Group 2 as they led the winners in the Architects Bowling Club’s 37th anniversary tournament at E Lanes Center, Ortigas Ave., San Juan City last week.

Jalandoon rolled a 10-game series of 2188 to beat Rod Salamat of Goldbridge Neighborhood Dental (2186) and Hermie Prudente of Moldex Pipes(2170) of the weekly event sponsored by Boysen and Nation Paints.

Firmeza, on the other hand, scored 1464 to cop the Group 2 title over Zeny Prudente of Romari Const. (1357) and Ricky Martinez of Philflex wires (1329).

Steeltech, led by Ronnie Javier, Rod Salamat and Jalandoon, pooled a 1912 to pocket the Team Event Group 1 crown while the Boysen team of Jerry Cham, Sonny Esguerra and Lito Zubiri annexed the Group 2 plum with a 1636.

Jalandoon and Javier combined for a 1352  to top Group 1 in the doubles, while Esguerra and Zubiri of Emerald Pipes clinched the Group 2 title with a 1162. Manny Padit of Philflex had a 1009 to top Group 1 while Bert Magsakay of Emerald Pipes rolled a 789 to head the Group 2 qualifier.

The tournament, backed by DN Steel, E.S.Vidal Builders, PNS Advanced Tech, Coach Furnitures, Miraga Trading, WeKonstruct, Conc.Ventures, Duraflex TW/THW Wires, Morning Sun, Boysen Acrytex/Knoxout/Wallguard, Consnet Builders and Novelle Furnitures, resumes at 7 tonight with the staging of monthly championship for April, also at E Lanes.
