3 share NCA derby honors

MANILA, Philippines - Jimafer BG of Efren Canlas, Sta. Monica Barkadahan of Tady Palma and Sa Pasay of Rep. Patrick Antonio scored five points each to share top honors in the National Cockers Alliance six-cock derby at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City recently.

San Leo of Mayor Elan Nagano finished with 4 1/2 points to place fourth while Phoenix/Juliana of Mario Villamor and Johnny Tirdas, Firefly 15 of Ernie Austria, Flying Horse of Rep. Panganiban, June 7 of Rodelo Diamante, SF Blue Quartz 1 of Bebot Uy, April 28 of Mayor Boyet Ynares, AA Jade Resort of Arman Santos, and Goldquest Champions of Osang dela Cruz and Engr. Procis Aquino wound up with four points apiece.

Meanwhile, the NCA will hold another six-cocker on May 6 with another stellar field vying for the crown while the World Championship Derby will be held May 13, 15 and 17 with top cockers Dan Gray and Tom Wilson leading the international field.

The WCD, hosted by Jet Fernando, Jingco Brothers, Madlangbayan Brothers, Antonio and Canlas, will also feature the country’s top breeders who will also be vying for points for the NCA Cocker of the Year derby.
