Aklan tankers cop overall title in PSL Boracay meet

MANILA, Philippines - Host Aklan Swimming Club garnered 747 points to claim the overall title in the 56th Philippine Swimming League (PSL) Leg Series at the Makato Sports Complex in Kalibo, Aklan.

Veteran internationalists Kyla Soguilon (girls’ 9 years), Kobe Soguilon (boys’ 14 years) and Michael Gabriel Lozada (boys’ 7 years) as well as Juliene Fernandez (girls’ 6 years) and Sidley Rose Malumay (girls’ 10 years) of Aklan head the list of the Most Oustanding Swimmer (MOS) awardees.

“We’re overwhelmed with the good turnout of this tournament. We’re happy that we were able to put up a good fight against some of the country’s best age-groupers. We’re looking forward to another fruitful campaign in the next series of the PSL,” said Aklan Swimming Club president Kokoy Soguilon.

Kyla and Lozada got five individual gold medals each while Fernandez earned four, and Kobe and Malumay pocketed two golds apiece.

The other MOS in the girls’ division were Royal Bangkok Meet gold medalist Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh (7 years), Alynna Ysabel Garcia (8), Trisha Lei Bongco (11), Yzandra Opina (12), Kara Thereze Colaste (13), Celine Ann Delovato (14), Andrea Jheremy Pacheco (15) and Patricia Alexis Molino (16).

Palarong Pambansa standout McTracy Alindogan, an eight-gold winner in the 2014 Cape Town Swim Meet in South Africa, had a perfect five-gold medal haul to take the MOS trophy in the boys’ 13 years category.

Emanuel Joshua Lorbes (16), Lester Yatar (17-over), Sean Elijah Enero (15), Rhodisper Dimapilis (12), David Villaruz (11), Ralph Bryson Bultron (10), Kensaku Hatazawa (9), Eirik Judel Rivera (8) and Rex Dela Cruz were the other MOS winners in the boys’ class.
