Int’l dragonboat fest under way in Boracay

MANILA, Philippines - A record field of 1,085 paddlers from 32 teams, including eight international squads, vie in  the eighth Boracay International Dragonboat Festival set April 24-26 at Boracay Regency Beach Resort and Spa.

Organized by the Boracay Island Paddlers Association (BIPA), the event is supported by AXN, Coca-Cola, Headware, Jack Daniels, The Boracay Beach Resort, Knot Just Weddings, Rieseling Boracay Beach Resort, Nami Resort, Novuhair, Fairways and Bluewater, Boracay Foundation Inc., Escondido Boracay Beach Resort, Boracay Island Water Company, and the Municipal Government of Malay.

The masters’ class and the elite class, composed of national teams, are new additions to the event. The event is the only dragonboat tournament worldwide where paddlers enjoy watching the races up-close while enjoying Boracay’s fine sand.
