Fox Sports airs Nascar STP 500 race in Virginia

MANILA, Philippines - The STP 500 race fires off Sunday (Monday 4 a.m. in Manila) at the legendary Martinsville Speedway in Virginia, with Jimmie Johnson the odds-on favorite to win this leg of the Nascar Sprint Cup Series.

The race will be broadcast live, from 4 .a.m. Monday, in the Philippines exclusively by Fox Sports, with Seaoil Philippines as official race telecast presentor.

This year’s edition of the Nascar Sprint Cup Series has seen five different winners for the first five races. Eight-time winner Johnson lords over the STP 500, one of the oldest legs in Nascar history, and is currently sixth in the standings with 165 points. He has also had three consecutive top-5 finishes that include two wins. He is due for  his first win in the season.

Other races will also give everything they have to steal the limelight and earn the top spot at the podium. Always in the running is crowd favorite Dale Earnhardt Jr., who is hungry for his first-ever STP 500 win. Currently second in the standing, he has four top 10 finishes in his last five starts at Martinsville.

A lot is to be expected from Kyle Busch and Brad Kaselowski who finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in previous legs this year.
