Anton tops 115 rivals in Circuit Showdown

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Castrol-Yokohama champion driver Carlos Anton kicked the year off by besting over 115 participants in the first leg of Circuit Showdown 2014 recently at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

Anton clocked an amazing time of 1 minute,  44.325 seconds eclipsing his old record (1:44.788) by almost half a second. The reigning Philippine Touring Car champion and lap record holder at BRC used his trusty Mark Young-Hornitex- prepared CRX to smash his old time.

“The team prepared the car well and Jeff (de Leon) of Forcespeed helped us get the right set-up with the suspension and brakes which I feel made the difference! With God’s continued protection, we hope to reset all our records this year,” Anton said after the race.

The Mark Young team is already busy preparing for the second round in Clark on April 5 when they hope to run the 1000 horsepower GTR with Anton at the wheel and the Honda EF piloted by Jason Young. Inigo Anton, the youngest race car driver in the country, is also set to try and win in the Bracket F division where he hopes to repeat or go one better than his second- place finish last year.

Carlos Anton and the Mark Young Racing Team are backed by Castrol, Yokohama, Hornitex, Cars Unlimited, Mohspeed, Special Stage, Autoshack, View Park Hotel, Forcespeed, Works Bell brakes, Buddy Club and Ethanworx.
