Ad Masters golf slated in Alabang

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Ad Masters Golf Championship, featuring the top golfing executives and bigwigs from the advertising and communications industry, will be held April 28 at the Alabang Country Club in Muntinlupa City.

Now on its ninth staging, the event, organized by the Advertising Foundation of the Philippines (Ad Foundation), will have the individual and team competitions with Ad Foundation founding chairman Louie Morales donating the Morales Championship Cup for the individual tournament.

Teams, on the other hand, will vie for the tournament’s Meckoy Quiogue Cup in honor of the late industry leader, who had been an inspiration to many of his colleagues and peers.

“On our ninth year, we are excited to once more invite our colleagues and friends to show their top form in a friendly competition,” said Ad Foundation executive director Linda Gamboa.

Like in the previous years, the tournament will be held in partnership with the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP) with this year’s tournament to be held in commemoration of KBP’s 43rd founding anniversary.

According to Butch Canoy, concurrent chair of the KBP ad the Ad Standards Council (ASC) as well as the overall organizing chairman of the ninth Ad Masters Golf Championship, “the significance of this partnership is that the founding of the KBP marks the first milestone on the start of the advertising industry’s self-regulation.”
