Pugo Adventure seeks 2nd crown in Corporate Cup
MANILA, Philippines - Pugo Adventure hopes to come out strong and seize the early momentum in its bid for a second straight crown in the seniors division of the 26th Philippine Corporate Cup at the Camp John Hay Golf Club in Baguio City today.
Pugo Adventure, with Park Jon-won as anchor, romped away with the crown last year, beating Royal Northwoods by 18 points. Park will be joined this time by Fred Puckett, Ed Montenegro and Goody Ignacio as they seek a second straight win in the annual event featuring the country’s top golfing corporations and business firms.
Out to foil Pugo’s bid is Megafiber, which will be led by Albert MG Garcia with back-up from Mari Hechanova and Rene Unson, members of PAL Interclub runner-up Canlubang, and Ben Jacinto.
Team Nueva Ecija is also tipped to contend for the crown in the four-to-play, three-to-count format event to be played under the Molave scoring. Bannering the team are Tomas Joson III, Joel San Vicente, Arnold Duay and Jimmy Dy.
Aside from the seniors, action in the regular divisions 3, 4 and 5 also begins today with the 36-hole championship co-presented by Megafiber and Ayala Land Premiere. Hostilities in Division 1 and 2 will start tomorrow.
