MANILA, Philippines - National team members Iyah Sevilla and Roslee Pedrosa snared the girls and boys singles crown of the seventh Prima Pasta Badminton Championship at the Powersmash badminton courts in Makati City recently.
Sevilla beat Alyssa Geverjuan, 21-17, 18-21, 21-14, while Pedrosa ripped Jerrickson Oba-ob, 21-16, 21-18, to gain the girls’ and boys’ 19-under titles.
Chanelle Lunod ripped Aldreen Concepcion, 21-12, 21-16, for the girls’ 17-under trophy, while Emilio Mangubat crushed Glenn Camillo in the boys’ 17-under class, 21-16, 21-13.
In other singles divisions of the competition organized by Prima Pasta chairman Alexander Lim, Kyle Geronimo whacked Virginia Lopez in the girls’ 15-under, 21-9, 21-10, to win the crown, while Jochelle Alvarez whipped Catherine Barrientos, 21-16, 18-21, 23-21, for the girls’ 13-under title.
Jewel Albo copped the boys’ 15 and 13-under titles after winning over Ramon Timothy Santos in boys’ 15-under class finals, 21-18, 21-14 and Charles Alcarpio in boys’ 13-under finals, 21-15 21-6.
