MANILA, Philippines - La Salle Green Hills and Ateneo face off again today with the former hoping to bounce back from a pair of setbacks and the latter out to sustain its form in a pair of rubber matches in the Growee-MYBall Metro Invitational Finals at the Marist School gym in Marikina.
The Greenies go for a repeat of last season’s double crowns as they tangled with the Blue Eaglets in the Contender division (12-14 age group) at 8 a.m. and the Mini division (9-11 age group) at 10 a.m.
The Blue Eaglets upended the Greenies in the two finals series with big victories last week, forcing a pair of sudden deaths.
The Greenies advanced to the finals outright for the twice-to-beat edges after completing a 7-0 sweep of the elimination round in both divisions.
In the Contender finals, Rebi Andres and Gian Mamuyac teamed up for 27 points to power the Blue Eaglets to a come-from-behind 78-74 victory over the Greenies.
