Seafair 2014 opens at CCP Bay terminal

MANILA, Philippines - Seafair 2014 unfolds tomorrow at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Bay Terminal with the country’s leading firms and outfits in the yacht and boating industry joining the first big yacht and marine show to be held in the country in a long time.

“We have exerted our best to make the marine trade fair a memorable one not only for our exhibitors and supporters but also for the visitors who will be coming to our four-day event,” said Ey Bacasmas-Po of organizing Legworks Events.

Po cited the various groups and organizations’ role in ensuring the successful staging of the event backed by Megaworld, Ayalaland Premier and Robinsons Land. They include the Philippine Trailer Boat Club, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Sailing Association, Philippine Dragon Boat Federation and Eljan Sports.

Organizers have lined up several activities, ensuring visitors that their time and effort will be worth their while during the course of the event backed by ALS Marine, Tronqued Boats, Tow and Stow Industries and Scan Marine.

Aside from showcasing the latest gear and equipment in the nautical business, the Coast Guard will also be conducting tips on marine safety while Eljan Sports will hold talks on the latest life-safety gadgets.

There will be bartending competitions aboard some of the luxurious yachts, the centerpiece of the trade fair, with bartenders expected to concoct their best drinks for both visitors and participants alike.   

Other fun events lined up in four-day affair are the Poker Run and the yacht-decorating contest while adventure-seekers can either go on a chopper tour or on a cruise of the Manila Bay in the trade expo also backed by Bonne Maman and VMV hypoallergernic  beauty products.

Dingy (small boat) and dragon boat regattas, jet ski demonstrations, underwater photography and health and beauty workshops will also be held during the Seafair 2014, according to Adm. Dan Villa.

Admission is P100 per person per day.
