Over 60 HS standouts show stuff in All-Star Game roster

MANILA, Philippines - More than 60 high school standouts from all over the country have been invited to the tryouts for the 2014 Seaoil NBTC HS All-Star Game with the list expected to swell as the ongoing provincial championships conclude within the next few days.

The tryouts will be held this weekend at the San Beda gym in Mendiola.

From among invitees, 30 will be chosen to showcase their talent in the Seaoil All-Star High School Game on March 9 at the Ynares Arena in Pasig which will be televised on BTV.

For graduating seniors only, the All-Star Game will showcase the stuff high school stars in the nation will be bringing into collegiate leagues like the UAAP and the NCAA.

Presented by Seaoil and backed by the MVP Sports Foundation, Meralco, Smart, NLEX, Maynilad, Philex and Molten, the HS All-Star Game will provide the high wire climax to the 2014 Seaoil NBTC League National High School Finals, the official grassroots program of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, set March 6-9.

Invited to attend the tryouts from the National Capital Region are St. Stephen’s Ivan Ong and Tyrone Pierce Chan, Xavier’s Jarell Lim and Isaac Go, Hope Christian’s John Apacible, Arjan Dela Cruz and Jobert Mercado.
