MANILA, Philippines - National U and Chiang Kai Shek College trounced their respective rivals in emphatic fashions to advance to the semifinal round of the first Got Skills Age Group Basketball Showdown at the Xavier School Sports Complex in San Juan last Sunday.
Rhayyan Amsali tallied 28 as the NU Bullpups routed the San Beda College-Alabang side, 76-37, while Joshua Ramirez banged in 16 points as the CKSC Dragons toppled Southeastern College, 66-18.
La Salle-Zobel and La Salle Greenhills-PAYA took the two other semis berths in the event backed by Chris Sports, SKLZ Philippines, Fitness and Athletics Company, No Curfew Watch Store, Wize and Ope Watch, and Goody Gulp Milk Drink.
Gian Keith Abanilla scored points as La Salle-Zobel thumped Diliman Preparatory School, 84-19, while LSGH-PAYA held off over LSGH-PRADA, 57-48.
In the 12-under side, Marist School demolished St. Mary College-Quezon City, 70-29, with Victor Papa hitting 22 points, while Xavier School won by default over St. Francis to reach the semis.
San Beda-Alabang and La Salle-Zobel booked the other semis seat with the former drawing 13 points from Gabriel Flores to beat CSA, 45-29, and the latter disposing of Colegio San Benildo, 51-24.
Over in the 11-under section, Marist School downed School of St. Anthony, 52-36, with Jethro Escoto topscoring for 14 points to join San Beda-Alabang, Xavier School and San Beda-Taytay in the semis.
Sean Fry shot 18 points as SBC-Alabang won over CSA, 56-46, while Darren Sytin made 14 markers for Xavier School, which downed La Salle-Zobel, 52-16. San Beda-Taytay won by default over Don Bosco.
In the 10-under semis, Jacob Militar had 19 points as Marist won over CSA, 49-36, and Xavier walked over DBTI.
In the 9-under semis, Xavier trampled La Salle-Zobel, 47-31, to arrange a title duel with CSA.
