J. Genesis-Dubai rules W Slashers

MANILA, Philippines - J.Genesis-Dubai Gold of Macabebe, Pampanga Vice-Mayor Jubee Navarro and Dubai-based OFW Gary Guinto amassed 7.5 points to emerge solo winner of the 2014 World Slasher Cup (WSC) 8-Cock Invitational Derby held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Tuesday.

Besting a field of 317 entries, J.Genesis-Dubai Gold was the only entry to rack up four straight wins in the grueling 4-cock grand finals.

The Pampanga-based entry outclassed an unprecedented field of big-time local cockers and elite foreign participants to emerge as the winner in this bi-annual event dubbed as the Olympics of Cockfighting.

Notable performances were dished out by the runners-up entries of Butchoy  Olano and Lito Roque (Tose Ika Diego LR-1), Raymond Velayo and Lito Cay, Engr. Tony Marfori (Swing GTY) who all scored 7 points each.

Among those who scored 6.5 points were Atty. Jun Mendoza (RBR Guam-JM), Teng Ranola/Jesry Palmares/Boy Martinez (BM Skylark JPTR), Luding Boongaling and Lino Mariano (LB Candelaria-1) Cong. Jose Panganiban (Flying Horse),  Mayor Egay Capuchino (Capuchino Deong), Gov. Eddie Bong Plaza/Escolin Bros (Escolin/Eslabon EP Chuck Attack), Engr. Celso Salazar (Caswayne), Felix and RC Gatchalian (FFG Archers Monarch) and Noe Palmares (Fighting Doring NAP).
