Falcons go for sweep vs Eagles

MANILA, Philippines - Adamson University goes for a sweep of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 76 women’s softball first round action when it takes on Ateneo de Manila today at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

Slumping National University (4-2) seeks to end their two-game skid when they play against University of the East (2-3) at 10 a.m., while University of Santo Tomas (4-1) guns for a fourth straight win opposite University of the Philippines (2-3) at 12 noon.

In volleyball, FEU and UST collide also today in women’s action at The Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Tamaraws dropped their last two matches while the Tigresses are now mired on a three-game losing skid. Game time is 4 p.m. Winless squads UE and UP clash at 2 p.m.

Holding a 2-3 record in fifth place, FEU is trailing fourth-running Adamson (3-2) by a full game, with UST two games below the .500 mark at sixth spot with 2-4.

Action shifts to the Mall of Asia Arena tomorrow with De La Salle (5-0) battling Ateneo (5-1) in a rematch of last two championship series at 4 p.m.

NU, tied with Ateneo at second place with 5-1, and Adamson clash in the 2 p.m. duel. 

Action in lawn tennis also opens today at 10 a.m. at the Olivarez Sports Center in Parañaque, while chess hostilities start at noon at the second floor of the Enrique Razon Sports Center in De La Salle.

Juniors football also kicks off at 1 p.m. today at the FEU-Diliman pitch, while the second round of high school volleyball reels off at 8 a.m. at the UE Caloocan gym.
