Elite int’l cast vies in World Slasher
MANILA, Philippines - A crack international field of breeders and cockers field in their top-notch entries in the 2014 World Slasher 8-cock invitational derby slated Jan. 20-28 at the Araneta Coliseum.
American gamefowl breeding greats Duke Hulsey, Joe Goode, Richard Bates, Ray Alexander, John Trotter, Bob Howard, Billy Ruble, Jimmy East, Tom Wilson, Gary Guillam, Dee Cox, Dan Gray Carol Nesmith are expected to head the cast in the blue-ribbon event tipped to draw 380 entries.
Three separate 2-cock eliminations will be held on Jan. 20, 21 and 22 with the three-day 2-cock semis set on Jan. 23, 24 and 25.
After a rest day on Jan. 26, action resumes on Jan. 27 for the 4-cock finals for those with 2, 2.5 and 3 points. The grand finals will be held on Jan. 28 for entries with scores of 3.5 and 4 points.
Minimum weight requirements are 1.900-2.5 kgs. while submissions of weights are on the day before each fight schedule from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
