Briones regains crown after layoff
MANILA, Philippines - Tuason Racing School stretched its domination in Philippine Motorsports as it reigned supreme behind driver Dollan Briones in the seventh and final leg of Philippine Autocross Championship recently at the Aseana Bradco St. on Macapagal Boulevard, Pasay.
Briones, a top karter in the late 90’s, still exhibited exemplary precision driving to capture the Novice Stock B crown powered by Tuason Racing’s corporate partners Bridgestone, Standard Insurance, Coke Zero, Puma, OMP, C!Magazine, Aguila Auto Glass, Acer, Oakley, Rota, Speedlab,Toptul, Bellevue, Karate Kid , Brembo and Go Pro.
He steered his Ford Focus to an impressive run in the 1.6cc to 2.0cc category to a fast 57.1 seconds in the morning’s first heat up against regular competitors of the event.
His feat remained unshattered throughout the day even if the other participants had the chance to beat his time in the afternoon’s second heat. Even Briones failed to at least equal his clocking as he only came close with a 57.2 on his second run.
“I’m very happy with the win although I didn’t really expect it. And I’m thankful for the big support of Tuason Racing School for paving the way for my comeback in the local racing scene,†said Briones who’s part of TRS respected pool of tuners and trainers of TRS students under the Tuason Racing School Race Career Management Program (TRS-RCMP).
The TRS-RCMP was envisioned by Tuason to equip young racers and TRS students with advanced techniques and better competitive skills and help them achieve a successful career path.
