14 dispute 2013 Philracom Juvenile Championship
MANILA, Philippines - It’s all systems go for the staging of the 2013 Philracom Juvenile Championship this afternoon at the MetroTurf, the newest horseracing track in the country, situated in Malvar, Batangas.
Fourteen tough and exciting two-year-old colts and fillies are officially entered in this P2.5 million race sponsored by the Philippine Racing Commission. It serves as the culminating event in the search for the best juveniles in the land.
In the field are Barcelona – Jesse Guce 54 of Maverick Leonardo Javier; Castle Cat – Chris Garganta 54 of Amor Nacional; Fairy Star – Louie Balboa 54 of former Tarlac Cong. Jeci Lapus; Hello Patrick – Pati Dilema 54 and The Lady Wins – John Cordero 53 of Patrick Uy; High Grader – Jeffrey Bacaycay 54 of Eric Tagle; Kid Molave – Jonathan Hernandez 54 and Matang Tubig – Deo Fernandez of Jade Bros. Farm & Livestock Inc.; Kukurukuru Paloma – Val Dilema 53 of Atty. Narciso Morales; Love Na Love – Jeffril Zarate 53 and Mr. Bond – Fernando Raquel Jr. 54 of Hermie Esguerra; Mabsoy – Antonio Alcasid Jr. 54 of Leonardo Javier Jr.; Skyway – Mark Alvarez 52 of Joseph Dyhengco; Up and Away – Dominador Borbe Jr. 53.5 of Ruben Dimacuha.
These are the crème of the crop of the two-year-olds that have been tried and tested in the various legs of the juvenile series sponsored by the Philracom since the middle of this year.
The champion in this 1,600-meter race will be rewarded with the whopping top prize of P1.5 million and a handsome trophy, and will also be bestowed the top contender in the Triple Crown Series, the championship for the best three-year-olds in the country, next year.
Runner-up picks up P562,500 while the third and fourth placers receive P312,500 and P125,000, respectively. The breeder of the winning horse also gets a bonus of P75,000.
“This 2013 Philracom Juvenile Championship is the biggest stakes event to end the year with a bang. And in behalf of the management and staff of the Metro Manila Turf Club, we would like to express our gratitude to all who have supported us since we started operation here in Malvar, Batangas last February. It’s been a very fruitful and exciting year for the start of this newest racetrack in the country,†said MMTCI senior vice president Rudy Prado.
Prado added that the whole-day event will be spiced up with 12 Trophy Races with an added P20,000 going to the top three placers. “It will really be a very exciting day at MetroTurf and we assured that with these supporting Trophy Races all day long.â€
