17 nominated for Philracom Juvenile race
MANILA, Philippines - The 2013 Philracom Juvenile Championship has drawn 17 nominees, including the country’s top two-year-olds, with only 14 set to vie for top honors in the major racing yearender on Dec. 29 at MetroTurf in Malvar, Batangas.
Bahay Toro of Raphael Abacan and Barcelona and Mabsoy of Maverick Leonardo Javier head the nominees for the P2.5 million event put up by the sponsoring Philippine Racing Commission that also includes those who saw action in the recent P3 million Philtobo 2-year-old Championship, led by winner Kid Molave.
Others in the fold are Castle Cat of Amor Nacional; Dixie Gold and Skyway of Joseph Dyhengco; Fairy Star of former Cong. Jeci Lapus; Hello Patrick and The Lady Wins of Patrick Uy; High Grader of Eric Tagle; Kid Molave and Matang Tubig of Jade Bros Farm & Livestock Inc.; King Bull of Mayor Benhur Abalos Jr.; Kukurukuku Paloma of Atty. Narciso Morales; Mr. Bond and Love Na Love of Hermie Esguerra; and Up And Away of Ruben Dimacuha along with Fairy Star, Matang Tubig and Mr. Bond.
Under the rules, participants must have won higher prizes in various races this year to make the cut.
The winner will be receiving the top prize of P1.5-million while the breeder of the winning horse receives a bonus of P75,000. The runner-up will get P562,500 while the third and fourth placer will receive P312,500 and P125,000, respectively.
