Azkals continue maturity

Football continued its rapid growth in the country since the 2010 breakthrough win over Myanmar as the Philippine Azkals reached an all-time high of 141st ranking last October.

The Azkals’ rise in the rankings was buoyed up by the national team’s retention of the Peace Cup title via backdoor in Bacolod.

With more and more Filipinos embracing the Azkals and football, the Philippine Football Federation has launched a task force to study the formation of a national professional football league in the next two to three years.
