MANILA, Philippines - Last year’s finalists Olivarez College and Philippine Merchant Marine School take on separate rivals today as the 21st National Capital Region Athletic Association season kicks off with the basketball competitions at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

The Sea Lions, who beat the Mariners for the crown, test newcomer St. Clare College at 11:30 a.m. while the Mariners face off with the Rizal Technological University Blue Thunder in the 10 a.m. opener.

Seven schools are seeing action this season, including RTU, La Salle-Dasmariñas, PMMS, St. Clare College, Olivarez College, Emilio Aguinaldo-Cavite and Philippine School of Business Administration.

Action in volleyball, meanwhile, will start tomorrow at the PMMS gym in Las Piñas.
