La Salle Greenies lead winners in age group caging

MANILA, Philippines - La Salle Greenhills-PRADA, Marist School, San Beda-Taytay, Don Bosco and La Salle-Zobel beat their respective rivals in emphatic fashions in Week 3 of the first Got Skills Age Group Basketball Showdown at the Xavier School Sports Complex in San Juan last Sunday.

Jacob Lao shot 15 points to power LSGH-PRADA past Marist, 56-55, in the 13-under action while Jose Adrian Antonio scored 18 points as Marist waylaid St. Mary’s Quezon City, 73-35, in the 12-under boys contest.

Around 1,080 youngsters showed up in the third week of the cagefest, backed by Chris Sports, SKLZ Philippines, Fitness and Athletics Company, No Curfew Watch Wize and Ope, and Goody Gulp Milk Drink.

Joshua Rafael Lazaro fired 17 points as San Beda-Taytay trounced San Beda-Alabang, 43-37, in the 11-under side.

Carl Dominic Umali shot 12 points and grabbed four rebounds as Don Bosco Technical Institute downed La Salle-Zobel, 40-18, in the 10-under contest while Luis Enrico Datu came up with 10 points as La Salle-Zobel nipped San Beda-Alabang, 26-24, in the nine-under division.

La Salle-Zobel joined LSGH-PRADA 13-under lead after it routed San Beda-Taytay, 51-26, with Rey Santos turning in a double-double game with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

In other 12-under matches, Santiago Jose Rodolfo Dy unloaded 26 points for Xavier, which edged Colegio San Agustin, 42-37; San Benilde won over San Beda-Alabang, 46-44, behind Jim Aniceto’s 36-point explosion.

In the 11-under action, Xavier School walloped St. Francis-Sta. Ana, 44-18, with Darren Sytin scoring 10 points and pulling down five rebounds, while CSA won over DBTI, 34-23, behind Jacob Cortez’s nine points.
