NCR retains title in Milo Little Olympics

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Philippine Star

CEBU , Philippines   â€“ National Capital Region leaned on its “second team” swimming squad in the elementary class while stamping its class in athletics in secondary division to retain the overall championship in the fifth National Milo Little Olympics at the Cebu Coliseum last night.

The Big City bets topped the secondary division with 330 points and gained 285 from their second-place elementary squad for a winning grand total of 615 points. Team Visayas dominated elementary play and came away with 309 points but settled for 300 points placing second in the secondary category, losing by just six points in its bid to regain the overall championship.

The NCR tankers swept the swimming events and collected 120 points despite fielding in “second stringers” since their top bets were barred from joining other competitions during the UAAP season, according to NCR delegation head Dr. Robert Milton.
