Sato, Kang lead Sta. Lucia golf winners

MANILA, Philippines - Jufil Sato of Royale Tagaytay topped Class A while Kang Ho Bong of Rancho Palos Verdes dominated Class B as they shared top honors in the two-leg Sta. Lucia Golf Tour 2013 in Davao and Manila recently.

Walter Lacuesta of Summit Point copped the Class C crown while GM Balvuena of Rancho Palos Verdes ruled Class D in the event sponsored by premier real estate and golf course developer Sta. Lucia Land.

Andrew Canete, Jufil Sato, Fernando Mondares and Hospicio Razon pooled a 551 to capture the Group 1 overall team crown while Avelino Beltran, Crisostomo Borillo, Aristeo Agoncillo and Arnold Bautista of Eagle Ridge shot a 506 to bag the Group B diadem.

Raymundo del Rosario, Marthy Fernando, Francisco Gutierrez and Roberto Rosales, also of Eagle Ridge, took the Group 3 title with a 483 while Renato Abundo, Gerardo Brufal, Gilbert Ruetas and Rommel Valloyas of Eagle Ridge assembled a 419 to annex the Group 4 title.

Eagle Ridge also bagged the Club of the Year honors followed by Rancho Palos Verdes, Royale Tagaytay, Summit Point, Beverly Place and Orchard.  

For the Manila leg held at the Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club, Sato won Class A individual title, Borillo bagged the Class B crown, Lacuesta took the Class C plum and Willy Dulay of Beverly Place captured the Class D diadem. 

The Manila leg winners were Tong Wha Lee, Seong Seo Hwang, Ireneo Arbues and Kyung Young Jung, also of Eagle Ridge (273-Group 1); Eagle Ridge’s Avelino Beltran, Crisostomo Borja, Aristeo Agoncillo, and Arnaldo Bautista (264-Group 2); Summit Point’s Rolando Bool, Nelson Ventura, Walter Lacuesta, and Zeus Mangubat (243-Group 3); and Eagle Ridge’s Renato Abundo, Gerardo Brufal, Gilbert Ruetas, and Romel Valoyas (215-Group 4).

Nelson Ventura won a Class A Summit Point Golf and Country Club golf share, Raymundo del Rosario received a Class A Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club golf share and Teddy Valenton took a Class A Orchard Golf & Country Club golf share during raffle draw.

Proceeds of the tournament will go to the Sta. Lucia Intermediate Amateur (Inter-Am) Golf Foundation, Inc.
