UE battles CEU in PCCL knockout phase in Tanauan

MANILA, Philippines - Former national champion University of the East battles NAASCU champion Centro Escolar University in a knockout match today in the Luzon-Metro Manila leg of the Sweet 16 stepladder phase of the Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) at Faith gym in Tanauan City, Batangas.

The Warriors and the Scorpions take the floor at 4 p.m. following another knockout game pitting Lyceum of Subic against University of Batangas at 4 p.m.

Both games will be aired live over ABS-CBN Channel Studio 23.

Winners of each match will square off tomorrow at 2 p.m., preceding the game between National University and University of Perpetual Help.

Ten teams are competing for the last seat in the Final Four already occupied by UAAP champion La Salle, NCAA king San Beda College and Southern Islands titleholder Southwestern University.

The other teams still in contention are University of Santo Tomas, Letran, Far Eastern University and San Sebastian College.

After the games in Tanauan City, the step-ladder phase moves to Ynares Gym, Pasig City starting on Thursday.

The Champions League is sponsored by Phoenix Petroleum Phils, Molten Balls, FilOil Flying V, Focaccia, Fog City and media partners, ABS-CBN Sports and The Philippine STAR.
