Minda champs clash in Palawan tennis

MANILA, Philippines - The Palawan Pawnshop-Palawan Express Pera Padala age-group tennis circuit hosts the battle of the champions in Davao City starting today with the winners of the various legs in Mindanao slugging it out for top honors in different divisions.

Jenni Dizon and Joel Cantila head the elite cast in the four-day tournament ending Monday with the 15-year-old bets hoping to sustain their form after posting a pair of twin victories in the circuit’s last tournament in Digos City, Davao Del Sur.

Dizon, a local ace, won the 16- and 18-and-Under titles while Cantila, from Davao Del Sur, emerged the surprise winner after copping the 16- and 18-and-U crowns in the boys’ side of the event sponsored by Palawan Pawnshop COO Bobby Castro and Guillermo Nocom, president of Technosports, distributor of Babolat.
