Volley camp spices up Shakey’s All Star

MANILA, Philippines - A volley camp will kick off the Shakey’s V-League All-Star Weekend powered by Smart tomorrow with the league stars themselves conducting a two-session clinic for volley enthusiasts and aspirants at the San Juan Arena.

A maximum of 40 participants per session will be accommodated in the clinic, which will feature digging, setting, spiking and serving. The camp is open to girls aged nine to 17 years old.

Registration starts at 7 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis with fee pegged at P200 per session, inclusive of a camp shirt. Sessions are at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. with a mini-tournament to be held after the clinics.

Meanwhile, the Shakey’s All Star on Sunday will be spiced up by the participation of GMA talents, including Bettina Carlos, LJ Reyes, Lala Roque, Vonne Aquino, Raffy Tima and Dano Tingcungco.

Rachel Ann Daquis, Aiza Maizo, Suzanne Roces, Angeli Tabaquero, Mary Jean Balse, Michelle Carolino, Angelique Dionela, Rubie de Leon, Maureen Penetrante-Ouano and Tina Salak composed the Shakey’s team handled by coach Nestor Pamilar while Team Smart will be made up of Dindin Santiago, Jovelyn Gonzaga, Maru Banaticla, Jamenea Ferrer, Jennelyn Reyes, Gretchel Soltones, Fille Cainglet, Pau Soriano, Alyssa Valdez and Charo Soriano with Roger Gorayeb as coach.

Tickets for tomorrow’s event are pegged at P50 (free seating) and will be available at The Arena gates starting at 7 a.m. while tickets for Nov. 17 are priced P350 (ringside), P250 (lower box) and P100 (upper box) for the whole day affair and P300, P200 and P50, respectively, for the afternoon activities.
