ACS dribblers end PL Antipolo streak

MANILA, Philippines - Jonathan Piñera scored 16 points and snared eight rebounds as the ACS Team ended PL Antipolo’s three-game run with a 101-94 victory to force a tie for the Group A lead in the third DELeague basketball tournament at the Marikina Sports Center last Sunday.

Mitch Lodia added 14 markers and three rebounds while Alvin Vitug chipped in 13 points and five rebounds for the ACS squad, which bucked the 33-point explosion of PL Antipolo hotshot Mac Belo and a double-double game by Ingrid Sewa.

Belo added three rebounds while Sewa finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, JSM-KTM outlasted FEU-NRMF, 101-97, to improve to 2-3 in Group B of the tournament backed by the Philippine Business Bank-Marikina Branch, Hotel Sogo, Josiah Catering Inc., St. Anthony Medical Center Marikina Inc., PCA Marivalley, Mared Rubber and Marketing Corp.,The Playground Premium Outlet Store, Luyong Panciteria, Mckie’s Construction Equipment Sales and Rentals, Tutor 911, Azucar Boulangerie and Patisserie, Maic’s Gym, Mylene’s Ensaymada Bananacake, Pancit ng taga Malabon and Villaronar Resort. 

Ronald Roy sizzled with 29 points for JSM-KTM while Aris Gumabay scored 25 points for FEU-NRMF, who fell to 2-2.
