Portugal Coseteng shine in GTC races

CLARK FREEPORT – Dondon Portugal ruled the final leg but there was still no stopping multi-titled driver Jody Coseteng from bagging the overall plum at the conclusion of the 2013 Yokohama Philippine Grand Touring Car Championships at the Clark International Speedway here recently.

Portugal, mayor of the Taysan municipality in Batangas, copped a second leg championship since his debut in the third leg of the 2013 Petronas Philippine Motorsports Championships Season sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines and sponsored by official oil Petronas Lubricants, official tires Yokohama together with media partners Racing Beat@Wave 89.1 and  Inside Motoring on dzRJ 810khz with support from Car Crystal Coating Daiko.

After ruling the Sprint race, Coseteng, driving for Eagle Cement Racing, poised himself for a sweep only to face car problems toward the end of the 15-lap GT main race. He even signalled Portugal to go ahead.

Portugal raced ahead and held on to his post to the end line, finishing 3.303 seconds ahead of Coseteng who maintained a consistent pace to avert further damage for the runner-up finish.
