‘One-stop-shop’ at arms show
MANILA, Philippines - The Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers (AFAD) will put up a “one-stop-shop†for the processing of Permit to Carry Firearms Outside of Residence (PTCFOR) during the 21st Defense & Sporting Arms Show (DSAS) Part 2 set Nov. 14-18 at SMX Convention Center at the Mall of Asia in Pasay.
The one-stop-shop for PTCFOR will process neuro-psychiatric exam to be administered by Philippine National Police Health Services, Directorate for Investigation (DI) clearance, drug test by the PNP Crime Laboratory, gun safety seminar (lecture part) by the PNP Civil Security Group (CSG) and PNP Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO), and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance, according to AFAD president Jethro Dionisio.
The establishment of the one-stop-shop was made possible with the cooperation between the AFAD leadership and the PNP, led by chief Dir. Gen. Alan Purisima, a key figure in the promotion of responsible gun ownership in the country.
As part of the gun show’s tradition, the DSAS will also give free seminars on “Gun Safety & Responsible Ownership†by Eustacio Sinco, an FEO-accredited instructor, and “Filipino Gun Owners’ Forum: Purpose of your Firearms and the Responsibilities Behind Owning One†by MP Concepts.
The event, to be held alongside the 2013 Manila Auto Salon (Nov. 14-17), the country’s largest automotive aftermarket fair, will also offer big discounts from the participating gun dealers on selected firearms and shooting paraphernalia during the five-day gun show.
