UE dominates UAAP junior events

MANILA, Philippines - The University of the East (UE) stamped its class in the first phase of juniors’ division action in the UAAP Season 76 as the Junior Warriors snared the titles in taekwondo, table tennis and swimming, and bagged major individual awards along the way.

UE’s jins of coach Jeffrey Figueroa and assistant coach Maurice Renario captured two gold medals, two silvers and a bronze en route to dethroning Santo Tomas as taekwondo champion.

The Junior Warriors reigned supreme in table tennis with the netters of  head coach Rogelio Ponte Jr. and assistant coach Armand Del Rosario bringing home UE’s 10th crown in the sport s overall.

UE’s girls swimming team proved unstoppable in the pool as the tankers of head coach Ahli Frigillana and assistant coach Ferdinand Frigillana swam their way to a three-peat.

Winning MVP plums were UE Secondary Laboratory School’s King Philip Pineda (taekwondo); Jomari Inginiero (table tennis); and  Christine Jhoy Mendoza (swimming).

Clifferson Scott Romuar (taekwondo) was adjudged Rookie of the Year.
