500 medals staked in PSL ‘trick or treat’

MANILA, Philippines - Over 500 medals are at stake in 14 age categories in the “Trick or Treat Sprint Swim Meet,” serving as the 49th leg of the Phil Swim League Series, Oct. 27 at the Diliman Preparatory School on Commonwealth Ave., Quezon City.

“It is really a treat  for all the swimmers  as the category will start from 5 years old up to  6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18  with awards to be given by age band,” said PSL president Susan Papa.

Medals will be given away by PSL for each first, second, and third age band category winner plus ribbons for fourth to eighth placers. The first placer in every heat will also be awarded a heat ribbon.

A unique marble trophy will be awarded to the most outstanding swimmer also by age band category.

Papa said a trophy will be awarded to the girl and boy who will break the most number of PSL marks.

“This will also be the selection meet for our Dubai and Europe competitions.  A lot of swimmers will really go for it,” Papa said.

Former Sen. Nikki Coseteng, DPS president and chief executive officer, lauded the PSL for organizing the event and providing incentives to the swimmers.

“Life in swimming with Philippine Swimming League is  truly amazing!” Coseteng, a sports advocate and activist, said.
