Pachanga routs Army for 2nd straight UFL win

Joey Villar - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Pachanga Diliman continued its impressive showing as it demolished a hapless Phl Army side, 5-0, to notch its second straight victory in the United Football League Cup at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig City.

Fil-Am Nate Burkey unleashed a hat-trick, all comning in the first half to nail the Pachanga Diliman booters to their second straight triumph after overpowering Laos, 4-0, in the Cup opener four days back.

It was a first half to remember for Pachanga Diliman, which finished a solid fifth place in the League competition early in the year on its first appearance in the First Division, as it erupted for four early goals including one by Ariel Zerrudo.

Reza Amirkhizan joined the shooting parade after unloading a 49th minute rocket that quashed whatever hope was left with the decimated Army men.

New club Manila Jeepney walloped Laos FC, 3-0, to post its first victory in the league that soothed the pain of its embarrassing 6-1 hammering it suffered at the hands of Ceres-La Salle a few days back.

Masood Shedideh came through with a brace while Sean Iliff, who scored the only goal of its Cup debut, delivered Manila Jeepney's other goal that sealed it.

The win thus gave Manila Jeepney three points and another win will boost its round-of-16 chances.
