Pacquiao confident Bradley would beat Marquez

Camille Diola - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao knew that American boxer Timothy Bradley would keep his belt from Mexican fighter Juan Manuel Marquez.

Pacquiao said that the WBO welterweight champion had obvious advantages over Marquez in their Sunday match.

"Ang bet ko talaga si Bradley dahil mabilis nga ito, at hindi kasi siya umaatake," Pacquiao said in a radio interview on Tuesday.

Pacquiao, however, said that he did not watch the match as he was attending Bible studies.

In their June 2012 "Perfect Storm" match, the eight division champion lost to the undefeated Bradley in a controversial split decision, and reports say a rematch could be in the works.

"I'm ready (for a rematch)," Pacquiao said.

He emphasized, however, that his mind is still in the upcoming fight with American light-welterweight boxer Brandon Rios in Macau this November.

Top Rank chief executive Bob Arum said in a recent statement that a Pacquiao-Bradley rematch is less likely than a Rios-Bradley fight.

"Rios would fight King Kong, and so would Bradley. So if Rios beats Pacquiao, that's a logical fight to make. If Pacquiao beats Rios, I don't know whether or not that fight could be made. I just don't know," Arum told boxingscene.com.
