Young karters out to boost chances

MANILA, Philippines - Young guns Tai Zulberti of CityKart and Eduardo Coseteng Jr. seek crucial victories to solidify their grip of solo leadership in separate classes as the 2013 Coca-Cola Karting Super Series shifts to the Clark International Speedway at the Clark Freeport.

Zulberti is eyeing his third consecutive triumph in the Mini-ROK division while Coseteng, out to carry on the legacy of his father and iconic multi-titled racing champ Jody Coseteng, needs the win to boost his quest for the Formula Cadet Expert crown of this event sponsored by Coca-Cola Philippines and Yokohama, and sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines.

After being feted as last season’s Cadet Karter of the Year, Zulberti seemed keen on clinching his second career milestone and another triumph will further bolster his second perpetual trophy as Mini-ROK Karter of the Year.

Perpetual karting trophies are conferred to the Karter of the Year, Junior Karter of the Year, Mini-ROK Karter of the Year, Cadet Karter of the Year, International Senior and Junior Karters of the Year, and SQ Karter of the Year which all bear the names of the past champion recipients and will be passed on to next generation champions of each category.

He’s way ahead in the standings with Flynn Jackes and TRS Racing Kids teammate William Casequin, Dylan Arambulo of Tough Gear Racing and Sean Draeco McLelland hoping to catch up on points and challenge him for the plum.

Also in the grid are Mikey Jordan, Bianca Bustamante of Formula-E Racing and Jacob Ang of Eagle Cement who’s fast catching up on points following his impressive finishes despite missing action in the first three legs of this series.

Coseteng only finished runner-up in the last race at the Enchanted Kingdom but still managed to keep his hold of the top spot in the Formula Cadet Expert division.
