Del Monte, Pueblo hold ICTSI jungolf

MANILA, Philippines - Del Monte in Bukidnon and Pueblo de Oro in Cagayan de Oro are co-hosting this weekend’s second ICTSI-JGFP Mindanao Inter School with grade school and high school entries vying for team and individual honors.

There are 40 players from eight schools confirmed to participate in the 36-hole tournament sponsored by the International Container Terminal Services, Inc. and organized by the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines.

The champions in each division will qualify for the national finals where they will compete against standouts from the Metro Manila series and the Visayas competitions of the series backed by Pancake House Group, Sizzlin’ Pepper, Yellow Cab, McDonald’s and the Philippine Golf Foundation slated on Sept. 21 and Sept. 29.

Held under the auspices of the Frankie Miñoza Foundation which is at the forefront of talent development in Mindanao, the first round will be played at the Del Monte Golf Club and winds up at the Pueblo de Oro the next day.

Competing are Bukidnon Faith Christian School, Corpus Christi, Del Monte Elementary School, Xavier University, Nanuri International School, Manolo Fortich National High School, St. Mary’s School, Xavier University Grade School, Kong Hua School and Oro Christian Grace School.

To be disputed are the Seniors division for college players, Juniors division for boys in Grades 9-12, Midgets 1 for boys in Grades 6-8, Midgets 2 for boys in Grades 3-5, Girls 1 for College girls, Girls 2 for Grades 8-12 and Girls 3 for Grades 3-7.
