Jaguars trip PNTC five in UCAA

MANILA, Philippines - Philippine School of Business Administration banked on Aries Dionisio and Christian Canicula to score a 75-65 victory over the Philippine Nautical Training Colleges in the 12th Universities and Colleges Athletic Association (UCAA) basketball tournament at the Ugnayang La Salle gym in Dasmariñas, Cavite recently.

It was the Jaguars’ second straight win after squeaking past the Trinity University of Asia side, 67-66, last Friday.

Dionisio shot a game-high 29 points, while Canicula hit 24 markers for the Jaguars, who bounced back from three straight defeats in the tournament supported by Mikasa and Molten Balls.

 The Jaguars went on a 13-4 roll to start the third period, racing to a 49-40 lead before cruising in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, unbeaten Olivarez College drew 18 points from Eldridge Corpus as the Sea Lions swamped the Manuel L. Quezon University cagers, 108-66, last Friday to stretch their win run to four.

In other results, Jeff Disquitado scored 16 points to lead the National College of Business and Arts Wildcats to a 92-87 win over the Patriots.

In women’s volleyball, defending champion La Salle-Dasmarinas relied on a service ace by Mariel Desengano then pounced on a receiving error by Rizal Technological University as it posted a 25-20, 25-15, 25-13 victory for the solo lead with a 2-0 slate.
