700 runners compete in Active Health duathlon

MANILA, Philippines - The Active Health Duathlon fires off at 6 a.m. tomorrow with over 700 participants expected to see action in Clark, Pampanga.

Organized by Unilab Active Health and Bike King, headed by Raul Cuevas, the run-bike-run event will utilize a portion of the SCTEX (Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway) for its race segments composed of a 6km run, 40km bike and 4km run.

Only road and triathlon bikes will be allowed, according to the organizers, who added that slots have been sold out less than 24 hours.

At stake in the event, sponsored by Unilab Active Health, Enervon Activ, Enervon HP, I-ON Energy Drink, Hydrite, Aboitiz Power, 3rd District of Bohol, POCARI Sweat, TIMEX, Crystal Clear Purified Water, Saucony, Orbea, Corima, Clarkisit.com, Global Gateway Logistics City, SCTEX, BCDA and Holiday Inn Clark, are P10,000, P8,000 and P7,000 for the top three male and top three female elite winners while medals and gift packs from sponsors will be given to all top three male/female category winners.

Participants can claim their respective race kits at the Palm Conference Room at Holiday Inn Clark from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. today as well at the Bike King shop in Bonifacio Global City from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

On race day, a bike check-in will be conducted from 4 a.m. to 5:45 a.m.
