Agustin assures Lowhorn stays after Cornley's 'bum' tweet
MANILA, Philippines – Brgy. Ginebra coach Ato Agustin assured that Dior Lowhorn will stay as the Kings import even after former Rain or Shine import Jamelle Cornley called him a “bum†on Twitter shortly after they lost, 104-91, to Barako Bull Friday night.
Lowhorn finished with 30 points on 11-of-19 shooting and hauled down nine boards in the losing effort but the performance left Cornley, last season’s Best Import, unimpressed.
It all started with his tweet praising Mike Singletary, who outplayed Lowhorn finishing with 38 points and 17 boards. Cornley did not stop from there calling the Ginebra import a "bum" when a fan asked former Ginebra coach turned team manager Alfranchis Chua to get Cornley in place of Lowhorn.
Agustin, however, was quick to vouch for Lowhorn despite the Kings’ 1-2 start in the Governors’ Cup.
“Okay naman siya (Lowhorn). We’ll stick with him,†Agustin told Philstar.com.
Through three games, the former Saigon Heat import in the Asean Basketball League has averaged 25.3 points on 56 percent shooting and 11.7 rebounds for the Kings.
But despite Lowhorn's big numbers, Cornley believes that Petron's import Elijah Millsap is the best among the current crop of imports.
Cornley, however, was quick to dismiss that he is not after Lowhorn's job at Ginebra and instead targeting the NBA as his next destination. Cornley was seen watching the PBA games last week as he found no takers this season following his infamous outburst in a hotel in Quezon City a few months ago.

But the outspoken import, who led the Elasto Painters to the Governos' Cup title last season, told a Ginebra fan that he is the only import that plays with "never say die" mindset.
Cornley defended himself from fans calling him arrogant after his tweets ripping Lowhorn saying he's just misunderstood.
The former Penn State player averaged 22.6 points, on 49.5 percent shooting, and 11.6 rebounds for Rain or Shine last season.
